We want to say thank you to all the coaches, referees, players, parents, administrators, and everyone else involved with Upward Basketball this year. We had a great season, and we’re looking forward to having another great one next year!

Can you believe it is the last week of Upward for 2011??? Just a reminder that we will be having our awards celebration on Sunday, December 11. The program will begin at 2:00 in the newer student athletic center on the MCC campus. Each participant will be receiving a wonderful ‘award’ – and they are cool!!!! Hope to see you there!

Just a reminder that there are NO practices or games held the week of Thanksgiving! Enjoy the extra time you have to spend with your family and friends!!!! It truly is a time to give thanks for the abundance we have been blessed with!

Games resume on Saturday December 3. Introduction of players will be held at Lenihan on that day. The last games will be played on December 10 with introduction of players at the Miller location.

Awards celebration is Sunday, December 11 – 2:00 p.m. at Babe Harber Gym (MCC Campus).

We are half way thru the season!!!! It’s certainly exciting to see the progress being made each week – and even greater is the smiles we see on the players faces!

Just a couple things to take note of:
Due to conflicts with the school, there will be no Upward basketball practice held at Lenihan on Tuesday, November 15.

Looking ahead: There are NO practices or games held the week of Thanksgiving!

It’s almost game time!!!  If all the kids are even half as excited as the ones I’ve been around, we are in for a very energetic and fun year!  Just a quick reminder that pictures will be held on week 2 & 3.  October 29 @ Miller (for all 3-6th grade teams) and Nov. 5 @ Lenihan (for our 1st & 2nd grade teams)!  Picture envelopes will be handed out to coaches at the gyms the Saturday before your pictures….they will also have some extra envelopes available on picture day!

There were a couple corrections to the game schedule posted before. Please use this calendar for game times and dates.

Game schedule is now available..be watching for it! Please keep in mind, it is our intention to keep this schedule as is without revisions. Hope you have had or are having a great week of practices as you prepare for the first game next Saturday, October 22!

Our first practices are being held in both Marshalltown and our regional areas this week! WOW! We have over 270 children playing Upward basketball!!!!

The game schedule is in the process of being reworked after changes have had to be made. We will do our best to get that out to you as soon as possible!

Thank you to the entire Upward team who make this opportunity possible! Coaches, referees, parents…the list of volunteers goes on and on. It simply could NOT be done without everyone working together and our willing volunteers!
