PURSUING GOD for the benefit of others. BEING THE CHURCH wherever we do life.

What We Believe

  • God

We believe in one God, the eternally existing, loving creator of all things. He is composed of three distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), but He is still one in nature and being. All three persons are active in the work of rescuing humanity from sin and restoring us to new life in Christ.

    (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 44:6; Exodus 3:14; 1 John 4:8; Genesis 1:1; Luke 3:22; John 16:12-15)

  • Humans

We believe that humanity was created in loving relationship with God as the ultimate crown of His creation. Made in the image of God, every human being is valuable and created to show the good nature of God to all of creation. Because of our sin (disobeying God), we fall short of God's purpose for us and deserve His wrath. Still, even when separated from Him by sin, God loves all people.
    (Psalms 8:4-5; Genesis 1:26-28; Romans 3:23, 6:23; John 3:16)

  • Jesus

We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, and the only way of salvation from God's wrath. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life on earth, and performed many miraculous signs. We believe in His teachings, atoning death, resurrection, ascent to Heaven, and that he speaks on behalf of His followers to the Father in heaven. Someday He will return and reign forever as King of all kings and Lord of all lords.

    (John 3:16, 14:6; Romans 6:23; Matthew 1:18-25; Hebrews 4:15; John 20:30-31; Acts 2:22-24; Luke 24:51; Romans 8:34; Revelation 17:14)

  • Salvation

We believe that deliverance from God's wrath is only found in Jesus Christ, who received God's wrath for us when he substituted His life on the cross. On the cross, Jesus died to make a way for each person to be forgiven from their sins and enter into a loving relationship with the Father. Salvation is given to all who believe in Jesus Christ, turn away from sin, and commit their life to following him as their Savior and Lord.

    (John 14:6; Colossians 2:13-14; Romans 10:9-11; Acts 2:38; Luke 9:23-25)

  • Baptism

We believe that baptism functions as a public faith event where we turn to Christ and visually express that: (1) we need to be rescued from our sin, (2) only through Jesus Christ's death can we die to sin and be freed from our old self, and (3) only through Jesus Christ's resurrection can we obtain a new way of life with Him. When we are submerged and then brought back up, it symbolizes a cleansing death to sin and resurrection to new life in Christ.

    (Acts 2:37-38; Romans 6:3-4; Galatians 3:27)

  • The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the word of God, composed of various texts written by men who were led along by the Holy Spirit. Inspired by God, we believe that the original texts were written without error and are full of truth. God uses the Bible to show us how we can be brought back into right relationship with Him and then live faithfully. Because the Bible is the inspired word of God, it acts as the final authority on matters of faith in the church.

    (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; John 20:30-31)
